I recently led initiatives at Microsoft in re-envisioning and redeveloping business-critical components of the company’s global Windows Phone interactive program, improving user experience and customer retention through the crucial areas of product support, customer loyalty, and business partner communications.

Expedia Inc.
As Director of Global Marketing Communications, I developed a global, multi-brand B2B marcom program for the world’s largest online travel marketplace, including the establishment of a new interactive marcom platform, enabling management and staff in 58 nations to provide tailored business intelligence and market information to travel industry partners ranging from Hyatt to family-run inns in China.

The US-Japan Council
Ethnographic and demographic research, together with a preliminary set of in-depth interviews, revealed both a complex set of opportunities and challenges for U.S.-Japan Council communications, as well as a compelling strategic direction and defined set of tactical communications initiatives.

Seattle Arts & Lectures
A careful, highly collaborative research phase, consisting of a series of in-depth interviews, creative exercises, and facilitated group sessions culminated in the organization’s first fully articulated brand strategy, identity, and all-new digital and collateral media.

Jobfully's founder had a vision for creating an accessible, affordable and proven solution to help job seekers successfully reach their goals in today’s challenging job market. In collaboration with Jobfully’s team, I worked with the Internet technology lab Conceivian to design and build this revolutionary new job-search training site.

Working with the principals of J Street Consulting, I handled the complete rebranding and development of a full suite of digital sales and marketing media for the world’s leading provider of VoIP technologies.

Together with the principals of J Street Consulting, I managed the naming, identity and creation of film and print launch media for the organization's new program for Interventional Cardiologists.

I first met Shuko Yamamoto just prior to the completion of the third-generation Roadster development project. He was an engineer who had lived and breathed sports cars at Mazda’s vehicle development department throughout his storied career. At 50 years of age, Yamamoto’s passion for and commitment to creating the next great automobile burned as brightly as ever. Acting as the project’s deputy general manager, his role was to guide on-the-ground development operations in line with the general manager’s vision and direction. Yamamoto was the coach on the field....

Work in the Digital Age
There is no question that, as a people, Americans' most deeply engrained habits of working and consuming are unique. And it's a good thing for the environment that that's the case. One study reports that if every person in the world were to consume like the average American, we'd need four more planets to supply the raw materials and absorb the waste. Yet for many, Americans' work and spend habits are a cause for pride and celebration.
